Mr Simon Jameson
Consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon at University Hospitals Tees, specialising in hip and knee replacement, robotic knee surgery, revision hip surgery and periprosthetic joint infection. Seeing NHS and private patients across Teesside, North Yorkshire and Darlington.
About
A consultant surgeon whose practice is grounded in evidence and outcomes.
Mr Simon Jameson is a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon at University Hospitals Tees, having been appointed in 2016 following higher specialist training in the West of Scotland and Northern Deaneries.
His clinical practice is focused on hip and knee replacement, including robotic-assisted knee replacement, and on the demanding field of revision hip surgery for failed, worn or infected hip replacements. He is the local lead clinician for both periprosthetic joint infection and orthopaedic oncology at University Hospitals Tees.
Mr Jameson completed multiple post-CCT fellowships, including the prestigious Robin Ling Hip Arthroplasty Fellowship in Exeter and the British Hip Society European Travelling Fellowship at Nijmegen University Medical Centre. He holds a PhD from Durham University in the rationalisation of hip replacement prostheses, awarded in 2015.
Mr Jameson sees both NHS and private patients at The James Cook University Hospital, the Friarage Hospital, Guisborough Primary Care Hospital and Woodlands Hospital in Darlington.
Beyond his clinical work, he sits on the Orthopaedic Data Evaluation Panel (ODEP), the Beyond Compliance Advisory Group, and represents the British Hip Society on the National Joint Registry — bringing a national perspective on implant safety and surgical outcomes to every patient he treats.
